Skin treatments at Aesthetic Doctors Australia are programmes rather than single appointments: microneedling, polynucleotides, bioremodelling, PRF and XERF skin tightening. Most run as a course of three or four sessions spaced several weeks apart, because collagen takes that long to respond.

  1. Texture and scarring

    Acne scars, enlarged pores and rough texture need controlled injury that remodels the skin: microneedling, on its own or with PRF.

  2. Quality and hydration

    Dull, dehydrated or crepey skin responds to injectables that work at the level of the skin itself: polynucleotides and bioremodelling.

  3. Laxity and firmness

    Skin that has loosened rather than changed texture needs energy: XERF tightens the collagen already there and prompts new growth.

  • How do I choose between skin treatments?

    Start from the concern rather than the treatment. Dr Rakib assesses anatomy, medical suitability and expected benefit, then recommends the skin option that addresses the cause, which is not always the one patients arrive asking for.

  • Are all skin treatments suitable for everyone?

    No. Suitability depends on medical history, anatomy, tissue quality, your goals, how much downtime you can take and any contraindications. Part of the consultation is establishing when a treatment is not appropriate.

  • What does a skin consultation cost?

    A consultation is $75 for 45 minutes with Dr Rakib, redeemed against your treatment if you go ahead. You leave with a written plan and a quote whether or not you proceed.
