What is collagen biostimulator?

Collagen biostimulator is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA): a material made of microscopic calcium-based spheres suspended in a carrier gel. Injected into tissue, it provides immediate volume (the spheres) and stimulates collagen production around them (the biostimulation effect) over the following months.

It's not a hyaluronic-acid filler. It can't be dissolved if there's a problem: which is why it's doctor-only work, placed deep, where the body can integrate it predictably. Used right, it lasts longer than most HA fillers and continues delivering result through collagen induction.

Two effects, one product

The calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres provide immediate volume by their physical presence. The body then forms a collagen scaffold around each sphere over weeks: replacing the gel as it gradually resorbs. By 8–12 weeks, the visible result is partly the product and partly new collagen the product induced.

Why depth matters more here

Collagen biostimulator must sit deep, typically against bone or in deep fat, for safety and for the collagen response. Superficial placement causes lumps, persists longer than HA would, and cannot be dissolved. Doctor-level anatomical knowledge is non-negotiable.

Why isn't it reversible like HA filler?

Because calcium hydroxylapatite is not a hyaluronic-acid product: the enzyme that dissolves HA filler doesn't work on collagen biostimulator. This is why it's doctor-only work placed in safe anatomical planes, and why we don't recommend it for new injectable patients.

What if it doesn't sit right?

Most issues (firmness, asymmetry, minor lumps) resolve as the product integrates over 4–8 weeks, often with gentle in-clinic adjustments. Persistent issues are managed conservatively over time; rarely, surgical revision is required, which is why technique at placement matters.

Is the biostimulation effect real?

Yes, and measurable in histology studies showing new type-I collagen along the implant. The visible part of the result that persists past month 3 is largely the collagen scaffold the product induced, not the gel itself.

Can it be used in lips or under-eyes?

No. These areas are too thin and risk lumpy or visible result. Collagen biostimulator is for structural deep placement (jaw, chin, hands) or hyperdilute skin-quality work over broad areas (neck, chest).

How long should I expect a result?

Realistic range: 12 to 18 months for most patients. The collagen scaffold can extend perceived result beyond that for some patients, particularly with repeat treatment.
