If you’re looking for a treatment that offers both an early lift and long-term collagen stimulation, collagen-stimulating injectables might just be one of the most effective tools in your aesthetic toolkit. Unlike traditional volume enhancement treatments, which primarily work by restoring lost volume with hyaluronic acid, they are biostimulatory injectables, meaning they do more than just fill. They actually encourages your body to produce its own collagen, making it ideal for patients who want natural-looking structure, support, and long-term improvement in skin quality.

What are they made made of?

The collagen-stimulating injectables we use are composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a smooth gel carrier. The calcium-based microspheres are similar in composition to minerals naturally found in the body, which makes it both safe and highly compatible with human tissue. Once injected, the gel provides immediate volume and lift. Over time, your body absorbs the gel, and the CaHA particles remain to stimulate collagen production in the surrounding tissue.

How do they work?

They work in two phases. First, it acts like a traditional filler, offering immediate structure and volume to the treated area. This makes them great for areas like the cheeks, jawline, chin, and even hands, where you might want more definition or firmness. But the real magic happens over the following weeks. As your body metabolises the gel, the calcium particles kickstart your natural collagen production, gradually improving skin thickness, elasticity and overall quality.

That collagen stimulation continues long after the initial product has broken down, giving them one of the longest-lasting results of any injectable, often up to 12 to 18 months, or even longer in some cases.

What areas can they treat?

They are best suited for areas that need structure and support rather than soft volume. It’s particularly effective in contouring the lower face, think jawline definition, chin reshaping, or softening marionette lines. It’s also widely used on the hands to restore volume and improve crepey skin, where its collagen-boosting properties are especially helpful.

In recent years, it’s also been used in a more diluted form to treat areas like the neck, décolletage and arms. When used this way, it acts more like a skin rejuvenator than a filler, stimulating collagen to improve firmness and texture in thinner, more delicate skin.

When will you see results from collagen-stimulating injectables?

You’ll notice an immediate improvement in volume and contour right after your treatment thanks to the gel component. However, the most exciting results start to appear a few weeks later as new collagen begins to form. For many patients, the full benefits become visible around 4 to 6 weeks post-treatment, and continue to improve over the following months.

Because of its dual-action nature, they tends to offer a very natural-looking progression in results, no sudden, dramatic changes. Instead, the skin gradually becomes firmer, smoother, and more resilient, making it a strong choice for patients who want to age well without anyone guessing how.

Are collagen-stimulating injectables right for you?

If you’re looking for more than just short-term volume, if you want a treatment that actually improves the structure and quality of your skin, collagen-stimulating injectables are well worth considering. They’re particularly suited to patients who are noticing signs of sagging or thinning skin and want more lift, strength and definition without surgery.

As with any injectable, the best results come from a personalised treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. During a consultation, we’ll assess your facial anatomy, skin quality and treatment goals to determine whether collagen-stimulating injectables are the best fit, or whether a combination approach might be more appropriate.

If you’re curious about how they could work for you, we’re here to answer your questions and guide you through the process with clarity, care and expertise. Book a consultation at our Melbourne Clinic, and find out what a treatment plan could look like for you and confidently.
